Los Cabos Opens Its Bays to the World with “Nadando Chileno”
The 15th Los Cabos City Council, through the Municipal Coordination of the Federal Maritime-Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat)—led by David Ruiz Agúndez—participated in the official presentation of the inaugural “Nadando Chileno” event. Organized by Baja Swim Series, the competition is scheduled for August 1st.
The event will take place in the bays of Chileno, Santa María, and Las Viudas, bringing together prominent open-water swimmers from both the national and international stages.
David Ruiz Agúndez stated that, as part of the logistics, safety protocols and measures will be implemented to ensure the well-being of all participants. This effort will be supported by Zofemat’s lifeguard corps and aquatic team, alongside constant monitoring of the host beaches—all of which hold international Blue Flag certification and the Platinum award.
The event features race distances of 500 meters and 4, 8, and 12 kilometers across various categories. It will attract high-performance athletes from across Mexico and other countries, as well as local competitors, thereby reinforcing Los Cabos’ standing as an ideal destination for world-class sporting events.
