FICC LosCabos 2026 Connects Talent, Territory, and Industry Ahead of Its 14th Edition
For its fourteenth edition, the Los Cabos International Film and Creativity Festival (FICC LosCabos) will bring together established and emerging talent, extend its experience across various locations in the destination, and foster dialogue among voices defining the present and future of Latin American cinema.
FICC LosCabos will hold its 14th edition from December 9 to 13, 2026, offering a first look at the names, venues, and gatherings that will shape a program rooted in Los Cabos yet connected to the film and creative industries of Mexico and the world.
Guided by the #BeyondTheScreen vision, the upcoming edition will unite cinema, industry, community, and other creative expressions across the destination, featuring initiatives that link talent from Baja California Sur with new generations of creators and figures of national and international renown.
A highlight among the initial announcements is *Voces FICC 2026*, an active network comprising Adolfo Margulis, Mariana Arriaga, Ximena Lamadrid, David Zonana, Mar Prieto, Damián Romero, Anamaria Sayre, and Mario Escobar. Representing film, music, and other creative fields, these members will help identify, connect, and showcase talent, opening up new avenues for collaboration and distribution.
The edition will also maintain a strong connection to the local territory. Hotel El Ganzo, Cinépolis San José del Cabo, JW Marriott Los Cabos, Hotel Tropicana, Suelo Sur, Zado, Casa Ballena, and Marina Puerto Los Cabos will form a network of venues that become active participants in the programming, making Los Cabos not merely the festival’s location, but an integral part of the experience itself.
Each venue corresponds to a specific dimension, hosting industry gatherings and experiences linked to the Festival’s various platforms. Hotel Tropicana will host activities for *La Baja Inspira*; Hotel El Ganzo will feature initiatives related to the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund; and JW Marriott Los Cabos will hold *Frequencies of Now* gatherings, while Cinépolis San José del Cabo will serve as a key hub for film screenings and academic content.
Engagement with the local community is further expanded through the inclusion of the Los Cabos Documentary Film Club (*Cine Club Documental de Los Cabos*). With over 16 years of experience in documentary cinema, the club will join the program with screenings and discussion sessions centered on the memory, identity, and stories of Baja California Sur.
Also rooted in the local region, Hotel El Ganzo and FICC LosCabos will present the inaugural edition of their Writing Lab. Taking place from December 6 to 12, the lab will feature mentors Carlos Cuarón, Fernando Frías, and Gibrán Portela, who will guide the development of new stories through screenwriting.
The program will also bring together different generations and cinematic perspectives. FICC LosCabos will pay tribute to Dolores Heredia—an actress born in La Paz, Baja California Sur, and former president of the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences (2015–2017)—honoring a career deeply intertwined with Mexican cinema and the region where the festival originated.
Events this year will include “The Next Wave: Latin American Filmmakers to Watch,” moderated by Mexican filmmaker Carlos López Estrada. This session will gather ten emerging Latin American filmmakers whose work has been featured at Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, and SXSW. The event will focus on the stories, cinematic languages, and perspectives of a generation beginning to shape the future of Latin American cinema.
On December 10, “Beyond DeScreen – Women in the Industry” will bring together women from various generations and disciplines within the audiovisual sector. Presented in partnership with Girls At Films and ELLE, the event will feature Dolores Heredia, Griselda Siciliani, Martina Ferragamo, Mar Prieto, Ximena Lamadrid, and Mariana Arriaga in a discussion regarding the role of women both in front of and behind the camera.
These initial names, venues, and gatherings herald an edition in which Los Cabos once again serves as a hub connecting talent, the industry, the community, and fresh perspectives in contemporary cinema, with the destination itself acting as a primary filming location.
From December 9 to 13, 2026, FICC LosCabos will once again bring together creators, industry professionals, and audiences in Baja California Sur under a shared vision: #BeyondTheScreen.
