Los Cabos Announces AI-Powered Tourism Concierge
Marking World Tourism Day, the destination introduces its first AI-powered tourism concierge, adding to a digital transformation initiative launched in 2024 to streamline how travelers discover, plan, and experience Los Cabos.
Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, September 22, 2026.
In observance of World Tourism Day 2026—which this year focuses on the digital agenda and artificial intelligence to reshape tourism—the Los Cabos Tourism Board (FITURCA) announces the launch of “Visit Los Cabos Concierge.” This new AI-powered tool integrates into the digital transformation strategy the destination began developing in 2023.
Available via WhatsApp starting in late 2026, Visit Los Cabos Concierge will be the destination’s first AI-powered tourism concierge. It will allow travelers to access—through simple, real-time conversation—recommendations on where to dine, which tours to take, and what activities and experiences to discover during their stay.
Its launch marks a new phase in a strategy that has progressively evolved to transform how Los Cabos engages digitally with its visitors. Through various tools and platforms, the destination has shifted from a model primarily focused on providing information and inspiration toward an ecosystem that is more interactive, connected, accessible, and data-driven.
“Since 2023, we have built an ecosystem that integrates various tools to better support travelers and align our tourism offerings with their interests. Visit Los Cabos Concierge is the next step in this evolution: bringing that information directly into a conversation on an everyday channel like WhatsApp to facilitate decision-making and create new opportunities for our partners. Technology is a means to make the experience of discovering Los Cabos simpler, more useful, and more relevant,” said Rodrigo Esponda, Director General of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. From Inspiration to Conversation
The Visit Los Cabos Concierge will bring a portion of the information and offerings the destination has developed within its digital ecosystem into a conversational setting. In the initial phase, the tool will incorporate the 356 restaurants found in the Visit Los Cabos digital ecosystem—ranging from fine-dining establishments like Cocina de Autor to iconic venues such as Sunset Monalisa and COMAL at Chileno Bay—while also enabling users to make reservations via OpenTable.
The tool is specifically designed to cater to experiential tourism by allowing travelers—whether already at the destination or currently planning their visit—to instantly access recommendations. At the same time, it creates a new digital touchpoint for restaurants and experience providers looking to boost their visibility among visitors.
This launch complements a digital strategy that has incorporated various solutions to support travelers throughout their decision-making process. These include SkyNav 360° and NAVI 2.0—which allow users to explore the region through virtual tours, recommendations, and points of interest—as well as interactive maps, air connectivity tools, CRM and extranet systems, email marketing, and digital accessibility solutions.
Rather than isolated initiatives, these tools are part of a unified ecosystem designed to link information, inspiration, and planning—and, increasingly, concrete actions taken during the trip itself.
Artificial intelligence is transforming how destinations are discovered.
The upcoming introduction of Visit Los Cabos Concierge arrives at a time when artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape one of the initial stages of travel: the search for information.
In addition to relying on search engines, specialized websites, and social media, travelers can now use AI platforms to research destinations, compare options, seek recommendations, and build itineraries.
Visit Los Cabos has begun to see its information appear in responses and results generated by platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini. This expands the scope of the digital positioning strategy: beyond web traffic, SEO, GEO, AEO, and traditional conversions, it is becoming increasingly important to understand what information AI systems retrieve and which sources they use to answer travelers’ queries.
In this context, official destination information takes on a new role. Maintaining content that is up-to-date, structured, consistent, and verifiable will be crucial for ensuring that new AI-driven answer engines can identify and retrieve reliable information about Los Cabos.
On World Tourism Day, Los Cabos presents a vision in which the digital agenda and artificial intelligence do not replace the essence of the tourism experience; instead, they help bridge the gap between inspiration and decision-making, simplify planning, and connect travelers more directly with the experiences and businesses that bring the destination to life.
With Visit Los Cabos Concierge, this evolution takes a significant step forward: destination promotion shifts from being merely a resource travelers consult to becoming a conversation that can accompany them throughout their journey.
