LOS CABOS CHILDREN FOUNDATION COLLECTION GALA

childr

Tom Walsh, Fundador de Los Cabos Children’s Foundation: “…The way I look at it is when you drop a stone in a still pond and creats these circles that keeps growing and growing and  turn into tideless waves of love not just circles of love and so, it´s been a wonderful journey…”

Armando, first successful experience starting in 2002

I heard something different in the air

An evil wind passed over me in my sleep

I heard pains and tears

No more joys or cheers

Loneliness has found me, and yes

I was ready to give up and vanish into nothingness

Tears filled my eyes

I couldn't believe I almost gave up on them

But within those tears was a hope newly found

One strong enough to fight

and get my name back

Because I know…I was not abandoned

Armando Quiñones

In 2002 he was 3 when got a blood disorder

Now I 22 and is a brilliant student and a healthy young man

Evangelina Burgoin: “…Well, sometimes the hospital didn't have them, and that's where Los Cabos Children’s Foundation came in to support us with medication.

They did all his lab tests on January 7th and they came out very well.

He goes to school, he’s here in his ranch. He's 6 years old right now. He was 16 months old when he started”

Leo Álvarez: “…Yes, they injected me here to cure me. Sometimes on Wednesdays, then on Thursdays, and now I'm not going to go. I just have to go for my check-up, because I’m now under surveillance.

Yes, I'm happy, but I still have to go to the hospital, not to get shots, but to get checked”

Mario Valdivieso: “…Well, we went to Mexico City thinking he was going to have surgery or they would do something to him, but we were told that it had to be done many years later, like 7 or 8 years. He needed the surgery sooner!

He had surgery three years ago... he runs, screams, cries and is a happy child. He spends his time laughing most of the time...”

Martha Pérez: “…Apparently he was born well when the doctor handed him to me, but he was not growing normally. He didn’t raise his head, did not crawl in time, everything happened late. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 11 months, and since then, he’s been in rehabilitation therapies. I have taken him to DIF and CRIT.

We move in a public transportation, but I have to carry him in my arms when he gets tired. I pick him up and I also take his walker to move forward, but we still have to walk some more…

I've been told that he's going to be able to walk without a walker”

Evelyn Trejo, Dir. Hossana: “…The horse's walk is very similar to that of a human. When we place a child on top of the horse, a very similar movement of the locomotion pattern is exerted through the spine that sends a signal to the brain as if he were walking”

Griselda Casimiro: ”…She weighed 2.6 pounds when she was born and was in an incubator for 43 days. That caused her retina to dettach and she lost her sight.

I started taking her to several doctors to Mexico City and Guadalajara, until I was told there was no solution.

I really cried a lot, I got frustrated, I didn't know what to do, I wanted to disappear...

Through the horses she learned to know all the animals by listening. She can recognize everything with her hands, she says her hands listen”

Bonnie Bottoms, Donor: "...Give back to people that need help, to be able to help children with health issues is profound”

Korey Riggs, former Executive Director of the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation (LCCF): “…

You are gonna see wonderful things are going on, and we can fundamentally change the world down here, there is a lot of problems here, but there is nothing in comparison to the amount of resources that we can bring to bear, if everyone just jump in and get involved”

Marisa Comella, Los Cabos Children’s Foundation Executive Director: “… Los Cabos Children’s Foundation it´s about community work during 17 years a long side 66 different organizations. It´s about opening one voice for Los Cabos and reaching 30,000 kids from all over the estate   LCCF strengthening our community transforming families and saving children”

Tom Walsh, Fundador de Los Cabos Children’s Foundation: “… It's reaching out and become more and more of the community, and it's really pull this community together, and before the Children's Foundation, families didn't have much hope and the one gift I think we given this families and this kids it is hope”

Interview with Carlos Mendoza Davis, Governor of Baja California Sur from FITUR 2020

In an exclusive interview with Carlos Mendoza Davis, Governor of Baja California Sur from the International tourism fair FITUR 2020, he commented on the work accomplished during this important International Fair.

Well, for the first time I as governor if, however, Baja California Sur in all the years of my administration has participated very enthusiastically in these jobs because they are so important for the tourism sector, not only of the country, but of the world, without The most important tourist services fair in the Spanish-speaking world and Baja California Sur doubts that it must necessarily be present.

Without a doubt, well first of all yesterday we had a very interesting dinner with his majesty, King Felipe who organized the world tourism organization, depending on whether the 40th anniversary of this fair is celebrated or celebrated and of course we have to show Baja California Sur what we have been doing to grow tourism, not only our strengths, our infrastructure and our natural beauty, but also how we have done to ensure that it is preserved and that we can inherit an environmental heritage to our children, so that they can continue enjoying them and also of course those who visit us, I think that in Baja California Sur in that sense we are on the right track and convinced that tourism is our development path.

Undoubtedly, there are those who say that we are the jewel of the crown in Mexico in terms of tourism, and of course we are convinced that this is the route we must follow, the growth we have achieved, the employment that has been achieved generated, the decrease in the levels of poverty that the State has had in a sustained way, because it makes us think that this is the bet that we must follow and that this is where we should develop.

Precisely because Baja California Sur is an interesting example in terms of sustainability but also in terms of development, as we have made tourism the machine, the locomotive that pulls our economy, is that they have invited us to participate in a very interesting forum, where we have to talk about what we have done and contrast our experiences with other people, in addition to that we have several meetings with airlines, we are looking to take if possible more flights from Europe to Baja California Sur with tourism developers, with hotel builders, with intermediaries, with wholesalers, in short, we are here to seek to bring more business to Baja California Sur and that we continue to grow.

Of course, if Armando, thanks also to you for being covering this event, it is very important, I am pleased to see many actors related to Baja California Sur at this fair, and well we are going to take a lot and get the best results for our state.

Interview with Rodrigo Esponda, Director of the Tourism Trust of BCS since FITUR 2020

Rodrigo Esponda cover FITUR min

In an exclusive interview with Rodrigo Esponda, Dir. Of the Tourism Trust for BCS he tells us details about his participation in the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain

Well look Armando we have achieved several very interesting negotiations with Tour operators and wholesalers from the Spanish market, with which we have developed strategies,  among them, obviously the Corte Ingles, with which we have a working relationship of many years, with Logitravel which is another of the larger companies  with AVASA, which is a consortium of travel agencies,  located in different parts of Spain, and has also had  very relevant production, according to airlines such as Aeromexico and Iberia. We also had  meetings with the main companies and with  Governor César Mendoza with whom we reviewed the communication programs, established marketing strategies and are reviewing in order to have a direct flight from Spain to Los Cabos in the short term, obviously by a season, which is the summer season, hopefully next year, 2021 it can happen. We had a meeting with the president of the consortium called ABORIS, which is a very large consortium that has acquired several companies in Spain, and with them we have been reviewing the data, so it has been very productive obviously we were also with TUI that’s the company as you know is flying from London, we check what’s the result of the veins, which are being generated, we signed the world purchasing congress that will be held in the destination next October, so very positive things also ...

This is the world purchasing congress, it’s a congress that will be held in October and is organized by the UNWTO, so it will be the first congress that  UNWTO holds in our country, in Mexico, and will be attended by the Secretary General and many other officials and that in addition it is understood in the sense of purchases not only of what can be generated from transactions, but of local purchases, that is, what this congress is looking for is to encourage the consumption of local products, expertise and services, so we are sure we have a lot to offer ...

Obviously the primary market for us remains and will remain the United States, we are not neglecting it, simply the European market is an incremental market that will generate a position in the European markets that will give us incremental tourists who stay longer, than It gives us global positioning, which gives us brand presence, but obviously the United States market will continue to be, and right now the FITURCA team is in 3 cities in the United States doing caravans, promotions in different segments, that we will continue to do so very proactive but obviously participating in fairs like this gives us a relevance and an international presence that Los Cabos as a destination definitely deserves.

There are very interesting events before, next week there is the world aviation congress where we negotiate (air traffic) routes.  That will be in Indianapolis, and there we will be gathered, and after the Indianapolis congress, we will be at ATV in Germany which is also very event important.
