"The tourist recovery of Baja California Sur is advancing with firm and safe steps, thanks to the strengthening and increase of air connectivity of the destinations of La Paz, Loreto and Los Cabos, with cities of great importance in our country and in the United States,"mentioned the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability, Luis Humberto Araiza López after the news that for the month of December of this year, La Paz and Loreto will be connected with Dallas, Texas and Phoenix Arizona with seasonal flights in the months of December-March and June-August, operated by American Airlines.

He also mentioned that these new routes will allow the Magic Town of Loreto to attract the arrival of more tourists, which will also benefit Mulegé and Comondú thanks to their proximity to said municipality, which means a great step towards international tourism, since in the last 13 years, the South Californian port did not have flights abroad, according to information from Airports and Auxiliary Services.

On the other hand, he indicated that the company Viva Aerobus launched on September 25 a direct route with Mexico City and La Paz, and with regard to Los Cabos, recently Aeroméxico began operations with direct flights to Guadalajara, Jalisco, added the news that by the end of this year Eastern Airlines and American Airlines will launch a direct flight to New York City.

After concluding the first Digital Tourism Tianguis 2020 edition, the Secretary of Tourism and Sustainability, Luis H. On the other hand, and on the theme of the International Tourism Day that is celebrated this September 27, the Secretary of Tourism highlighted that the Governor of the State held a series of events, among which the one held at Corumuel beach in La Paz where it raised the blue flag in recognition of this and 22 more of the beaches awarded with this distinction in Baja California Sur, as well as the Punto Limpio and Safe Travel certifications for the entity. In addition, the publication of a book on the Evolution of the Secretariat of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability in Baja California Sur in the last 35 years (1965-2020).

Tianguis Turístico Digital brings together more than a thousand exhibitors worldwide

Viva Aerobús launches flight that will connect La Paz with CDMX

"In Baja California Sur we have redoubled efforts to recover our tourism activity with positive results, proof of this is that the connectivity of our State is growing and strengthening," said the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES), Luis Humberto Araiza López after announcing the launch of a direct flight from La Paz to Mexico City, which will begin operations on September 25 by the airline Viva Aerobus, which will have 4 weekly frequencies (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday).

In that sense, he mentioned that visitors can be safe and confident about the security measures that are implemented in BCS and that are attached to international standards, remembering that the International Airports of La Paz and Los Cabos have certificates in the Accreditation of Sanitary Measures for Airports (AHA) program, in addition to the recent obtaining of the State, the Safe Travel seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

Finally, Luis Araiza announced that new routes will be launched that will connect La Paz and Loreto with two major cities in the United States, as well as another that will strengthen Los Cabos.

"The business tourism sector of Baja California Sur is recovering gradually and with good results", mentioned the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES) Luis Humberto Araiza López, also recalling that the entity is on an orange traffic light, that allows 40% capacity in commercial establishments.

The official emphasized that this progress in the reestablishment of economic activities is thanks to the commitment of businessmen and society itself to abide by the health standards and protocols indicated by the State Health Safety Council to face Covid-19.

He also highlighted the joint work that the State government institutions and the Councils themselves have developed in the plenary session of said Council to make decisions by common agreement, aimed at ensuring that the reactivation of the entity is responsible and orderly; prioritizing the welfare of the population.

“Hand in hand with the five municipalities we are implementing the necessary actions for BCS to continue with the reestablishment of its economy and with the recovery of its job stability. It has been hard work and full of challenges, thanks to this close collaboration that the three levels of government have, our state continues to advance, ”said the head of SETUES.

Finally, Luis Araiza ratified the interest and will of the state government, to continue joining efforts with the City Councils as up to today, to evaluate and analyze the situation in each municipality to adopt and design the measures that meet the requirements that each place presents.
