The International Association of Tour Operators of Golf (IAGTO) held its second Golf Tourism Convention of Mexico in Los Cabos, from October 29 to November 4. This important commercial event brings buyers and suppliers from the golf industry to a world-class destination that is famous for its stunning golf courses, excellent weather and luxury amenities.

IAGTO, which has carried out conventions in tourist destinations such as Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Turkey and Tunisia with great success, currently has 636 tour operators (issuing providers) golf specialists in 61 countries. Of these, 134 wholesalers in 31 countries offer, promote and sell golf vacations in Mexico. Many of these tour operators are located in the United States and Canada, both of which are a very important market for Los Cabos.

Due to the growing prestige of Los Cabos as a major golf destination, it is expected to see an increase in the number of buyers and suppliers delegated at this year's event.

The format of the Golf Tourism Convention of Mexico included a day of golf for buyers (optional for suppliers) in Puerto Los Cabos; a quick session in which suppliers meet buyers and opportunities for buyers and suppliers to meet through pre-scheduled appointments

The Los Cabos International Film Festival during its sixth edition met with all expectations due in part to the 41 carefully chosen feature films presented over the 4 day affair.

The opening gala scene was a star studded red carpet event filled with foreign and national actors, directors, agents and film critics from Hollywood, Mexico City, Montreal and elsewhere. ººº

The film Battle of the Sexes, directed by Jonathan Dayton y Valerie Faris, written by Simon Beaufoy, starring Emma Stone and Steve Carell as King y Riggs, was the film selected to initiate this year’s “See What the Neighbors Are Doing”, film festival.

On the other hand, for the closing awards ceremony, the film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, with Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and directed by Martin McDonagh was screened at the Cultural Pavilion in Cabo San Lucas. 

During the three day festival, an array of films that were chosen for their quality and outstanding performance at film festivals around the world were presented. Films such as Downsizing, Molly`s Game, The Florida Project, Foxtrot, Beach Rats, were just a few of the films presented during the productive film business event.

This year, the sixth annual Los Cabos International Film Festival offered tribute to director and screenwriter (living legend) Mr.  Paul Schrader for his outstanding contribution our film industry. Amongst his works we can find such memorable films as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull , Mishima, and many, many others.

The festival was glamour packed due to, as well, the presence of international actress, producer soon to be director Nicole Kidman who also received the Outstanding Work in Cinema award, for her exceptional career in film  that includes collaborations with renowned directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Gus Van Sant, Jane Campion, Baz Luhrmann and Werner Herzog as well as other fortunate personalities of the film industry.

Finally the festival ended this year’s activity with a gala party at the ME Hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

The fifth edition of Ironman 2017 was held, in which 1,500 competitors from 46 countries participated.

In this great event considered one of the most important triathlons in the world in the swimming, cycling and running tests, they were winners of the distances 70.3, T Bozzone of New Zealand, in the men's category and Jeanni Seymour of South Africa in the women's .

While the winner of the complete ironman was the Colombian Juan Valencia.

The first swim test for the Half and Full Ironmande was 1.9k and 3.8k; then cycling 90k and 180k and finally, the run of 21.0975 and 42.195.

On this occasion the goal changed at the Las Palmas park in San José del Cabo

Los Cabos International Film Fest

For the sixth consecutive year the Los Cabos International Film Festival will take place in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur from 8^th thru the 12th of November.

This year for the first time the festival will have an additional cause

Since it will provide funds to Red Autism Foundation (dedicated to assisting children with autism) with silent auctions and special screenings for autistic children will take place.

The festivals program includes 41 films, 30 of which will be premieres, with several probable  Oscar nomination.

Also There are films with good odds from the United States.

The Festival’s slogan is “Come and see what the neighbors doing”, it’s a film exchange between the United States, Canada and Mexico and each year a tribute to a film personality takes place.

Schrader has directed films such as Mishima and American Gigolo and was the screenwriter for Raging Bully and Taxi Driver.

The Festival Director commented that there are several reasons why this Festival is very attractive to members of the film industry.
