In Los Cabos, B.C.S. the San José Jazz Weekend 2018 edition was announced which will have again  the full support from FITURCA the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.

Rodrigo Esponda (director of FITURCA) ... "The tourism trust in Los Cabos is very happy to offer  this diversity and richness in events  as we have talked about some previous  occasions of cultural and sporting events. The jazz festival reinforces something that is San José and now this year some events are spreading within the corridor including Cabo San Lucas. So the truth is  opening more opportunities for both locals and tourists to enjoy and see the destination because it is the best destination in Mexico "

 This 6th edition of the festival will have more groups  and a greater number of days of music extending into Cabo San Lucas.

 Karina Raygoza (Municipal Director of Tourism) ... "The jazz festival extends to Cabo San Lucas and throughout the tourist corridor with the restaurants that are participating"

 This festival would have its most important days on the 16th and 17th of February.

 Astrid Castañeda Ruiz (General Coordinator San José Jazz Weekend) ... "On Friday 16th and Saturday 17th we start at 5 in the afternoon, every hour there will be a different artist, a different groups until 11 at night. We end up like 12:30 It is a totally family event and we invite you to visit us on Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th "

 This festive event will take place at Plaza Del Pescador located on the tourist corridor of San José del Cabo.

Raquel Rocha Galindo (General Director Plaza Del Pescador) ... "The  musical program on Friday will  have 6 groups and  on Saturday we have 5 groups that are good. We also have the extension program of the jazz festival in several  restaurants that can be found on the festivals web page www.sanjosejazzweekend.com and also on social networks like  Facebook and Instagram "

 The festival will feature local and international bands performing various jazz styles.

 Jorge Tito Rodríguez (Artistic Director) "We are very pleased that it has been extended because it is not going to be a two or three day event as we did before, now it will be  6 days from Tuesday the  13th to Sunday the 18th"

 Many people have expressed their interest in this kind of events and there are even those who have schedule their holidays in order to attend this jazz festival.

All is ready for the fifth edition of Los Cabos Half Marathon 2018.

The participation of more than 2,600 national and international runners is expected.

At a recently held press conference held in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, the fifth edition of the "Los Cabos Half Marathon 2018" was announced, which will be held on February 11^th throughout the tourist area of ​​San José del Cabo.

"We know and specially the week that this race it is happening, is a week that we work to have an increase in the occupancy in the hotels, so that is a very successful formula that we are looking to have in other events to position the Los Cabos as the premiere destination”

The organizer and director of this sporting event, Roxana Silva confirmed that registration is open for categories in 3, 5, 10 and 21 kilometers. The race starts at 07:00 o’clock, and at the end a festival will be held for the attendees and their companions.

With the presence of President Enrique Peña Nieto during the inauguration took place from the 27^th till the 30^th of March the 42nd edition of the Tourist Tianguis in Acapulco, Guerrero.

 As in years past businessmen and executives from the tourism industry were present amongst hotel directors, travel agents, tour operators, 

DMC's, airline representatives and the specialized media all gathered with the objective of finding a space for interaction with both national and international buyers.

 Presentation of new hotels, air routes, travel packages as well as conferences and a gastronomic exhibition presented by the state of Guerrero all took place enhancing the promotion of Mexico.

It was announced that during 2016, more than 35 million international tourists visited the country; 

Almost 50% more than during 2012, while domestic tourism grew 20%, from 189 million domestic tourists in 2012 to 226 million in 2016.

During this Tianguis more than 900 exhibitors were present, 

1,606 buyers, and attendees from more than 80 different countries par_ticipated.

The welcoming party was hosted by the state of Guerrero in the gardens of the famous Acapulco Princess where Lourdes Berho, Director of the Tourism Promotion Council for Mexico and officials from the state of Guerrero greeted the more than 1,200 industry reps. in attendance.

 "In each the meeting with the main tour operators and business partners from the United States, Canada, some of Europe and Mexico the results have been very positive, we have signed two very interesting agreements to increase collaboration and promotion, therefore increasing our tourist flow, and the prospects are very, very encouraging, so we are sure that it will be a very productive year for Los Cabo"

He also detailed that during the month of May he would be working with Alaska Airlines regarding Sacramento and also confirming a joint marketing campaign with one of the larger tour operators for the San Diego-Saint Louis, Missouri - Los Cabos route, in addition to the (SD / LC /SD)San Diego-Los Cabos-San Diego Southwest Flight that started in April of this year. 

The goals for the presence of Los Cabos at the Tianguis were also stated:

(Insertion.-) Enrique Turcott, Board of Directors President for the Los Cabos Hotel Assn.: "Reaffirming what we already have, but also, very important close contact with the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM) on several issues, but also a very important topic came up, it has to do with the subject of Meetings, and so we have already started very solid communication and are able to work hand in hand with them”

On another note, a luncheon-press conference was offered to the national and international media as well as a cocktail party at Las Brisas where the opening of new resorts such as Chileno Bay and Residencies,

Le Blanc Spa Resort and Solarz Los Cabos were the main attraction. 

During the event Miguel Angel Mondéjar, Marketing Manager for FITURCA, spoke to us about the ongoing "Thanks Los Cabos" campaign.

To close our State Tourism Secretary spoke about the collaboration agreement signed with the State of Guanajuato
