Calles highlighted the special magic that Cabo has always had and mentioned that for 20 years they have set themselves the mission of making fashion and what is done in the creative arts known. In addition, she highlighted that fashion attracts tourism, and this event not only benefits designers, but also promotes gastronomy and other aspects of the region.

The deputy director expressed that they will look for a second edition in Los Cabos, but it will be after consolidating this parade in other states of the Republic.

Finally, Calles commented that Mexico has experienced growth in the fashion industry, especially with the digital modality that emerged during the pandemic. She added that doors are opening in the United States, Europe and Asia, and highlighted the importance of e-commerce in this context.

Los Cabos supports the growth of the European market during the ITB in Berlin

IMG 6240

Berlin, Germany, March 5, 2024. Los Cabos is strongly committed to diversifying international tourism in the destination, and proof of this is the presence of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) at the ITB in Berlin, the largest fair in world tourism and travel, which this year takes place from March 5 to 7 in the German capital, with a comprehensive marketing, promotion and public relations strategy.

The Trust team, including the general director of FITURCA, Rodrigo EspondaCascajares, attends the ITB, together with service providers, as part of the destination's growth strategy in the European market and in follow-up to the recent announcement of the launch of the Frankfurt flight - Los Cabos, which will be operated starting in November by the German airline Cóndor.

The FITURCA agenda at the ITB consists of more than 60 meetings with wholesalers, tour operators, specialized travel agents and the media to publicize the unique tourism offer and connectivity of Los Cabos. It also includes events with the industry and the participation of Rodrigo Esponda in the “Luxury Travel” panel and meetings with strategic partners such as FTI Group, Kuoni, TUI and Derturistik.

“This work tour at the ITB, an important global tourism forum, is part of FITURCA's strategy to support growth in European tourism to the destination, not only from Germany, but also from other regions such as France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and even Bulgaria. The flight that we recently announced between Frankfurt and Los Cabos will help us consolidate the diversification of tourism in the Southern California region,” highlighted Rodrigo Esponda.

The manager stressed that they not only seek to attract more visitors, but also to ensure that they stay longer and generate greater benefits for the community in the region. “There are great product options that we are integrating into tours and itineraries so that the European visitor can stay 14 days or more in the region. You can spend three days in San José del Cabo, three in the Eastern Cape, three in La Paz, go to Loreto, return to TodosSantos and return to Los Cabos to conclude your stay,” he added.

The Frankfurt-Los Cabos flight will begin operations next November and will have two regular weekly frequencies, each with an A330-900 aircraft with capacity for 310 passengers. It is estimated that it will move 16,000 visitors a year, which would mean a 490% increase in German tourists, who would leave an economic benefit of 1,000 million pesos annually for the destination, consolidating Germany as the third most important international market for Los Cabos. , only after the United States and Canada.

In addition, this new connection with Europe will encourage the arrival of more inclusive tourism to the destination, since the Cóndor airline offers 4-class packages: first, business, premium tourist and tourist, which opens the door for diverse profiles of European tourists. Visit, mainly in winter, this important tourist jewel in the northwest of Mexico.

With the launch of the new air route, Los Cabos is consolidated as one of the tourist destinations in Mexico with the best international connectivity, having direct flights with the United States, Canada and Spain. In addition, last year the destination opened seven new national routes to connect with 16 airports in Mexico; seven international routes to connect with 30 airports in the United States and three routes in Canada to add 11 airports in that country, as well as the Mexico-Madrid flight from June to September.

Rodrigo Esponda pointed out that last year the destination received 3.85 million visitors, which represented an increase of 9% compared to the previous year, while by 2024 they expect to receive 4.2 million tourists, which means an increase of 7%. , of which 2.5 million would be from the United States; 1.7 million from Mexico; 200,000 from Canada and the rest from emerging markets, such as Germany and other European countries.

“Our focus is not on quantity, but on quality. We have 95% satisfaction from the tourists who visited us in 2023, and we want to continue like this, even improve. We will continue to offer the best quality to visitors, because travelers expect that from Los Cabos: higher quality of service, that is our differentiator,” EspondaCascajares concluded.
