In this edition, 13 companies from Los Cabos, including hotels, DMCs and service providers, will be present at the Los Cabos Pavilion, where they will exhibit the richness and diversity of their tourism proposal. During the fair, the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) will hold more than 60 strategic meetings with key business partners, while the rest of the Los Cabos committee will hold approximately 400 meetings during the three days of the event. In addition, 10 meetings will be held with specialized media to strengthen the presence of Los Cabos in the Spanish market.

As part of its promotional strategy, Los Cabos will organize an exclusive gastronomic experience aimed at media and business partners. At this event, Paolo Della Corte, Culinary Director of the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, will delight attendees with an innovative menu of reinvented tacos, while renowned mixologist Osvaldo Vázquez will surprise with unique creations inspired by the region's native plants and herbs.

In addition, within the framework of FITUR 2025, Los Cabos was represented at the Ibero-American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Entrepreneurs by Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of FITURCA, who participated in the opening ceremony. This important forum addressed the central theme "The promotion of tourism internationalization in Ibero-America", where key strategies were discussed to enhance the presence of destinations such as Los Cabos in international markets.

This connection will operate between November and April during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, offering European travelers a direct route to the destination. It is estimated that this new route will attract 16,000 tourists, consolidating European tourism as the third most relevant international market for Los Cabos and reaffirming the region's commitment to position itself as one of the most exclusive and safe destinations in Mexico for international travelers.

Los Cabos strengthens its tourism leadership with a new Board of Directors of the Hotel Association

New Board CNT 1

The Los Cabos Hotel Association (AHLC) has announced its new Board of Directors for the period 2025-2026, with Armando García, representative of the Pueblo Bonito group, assuming the presidency. In a press conference, together with Lilzi Orcí, Executive President of the AHLC, the main challenges and strategies that the tourist destination will face in the next two years were highlighted.

Lilzi Orcí emphasized the sustained growth of the hotel sector in Los Cabos, with solid occupancy and a significant economic impact. "Hotels not only generate income, but also employment, and in Los Cabos the unemployment rate is minimal. We are always looking for new collaborators," she said. She also stressed the importance of tourism promotion and the need for greater investment in this area. "There is a mistaken perception that Los Cabos sells itself. However, in markets such as Europe, the effort to position it is greater and requires additional resources," she added.

For his part, Armando García highlighted the continuity and strengthening of teamwork within the hotel sector and its commitment to sustainability. "We are implementing strategies to reduce the environmental impact, such as the efficient use of water and energy resources in hotels, the reduction of single-use plastics and the promotion of recycling practices. In addition, we will work together with local suppliers to promote more responsible and sustainable tourism," he explained. "The challenge is the same as we have had: to consolidate Los Cabos as an exclusive and international destination. We must take care of our home, because if we don't do it ourselves, no one else will," he said.

Among the main challenges facing the AHLC are mobility, urban image, security and staff training. "It is essential to work with municipal, state and federal governments to guarantee the growth of the destination. Collaboration with organizations such as Fiturca is key to strengthening tourism promotion," García said.

The new board is made up of 95 members representing the diversity of the destination's hotels, including all-inclusive hotels, European plans, and properties located in different areas, such as San José del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, and the East Cape.

The Board of Directors will be made up of:

Mauricio Salicrup

The Los Cabos Meetings Industry Cluster Consolidates as an Association and Joins COMIR

COMIR CNT 1

On December 19, Los Cabos celebrates 30 years of American Airlines operations in this tourist destination, a date that symbolizes the airline's collaboration and impact on the economic and tourism development of the region since its first flight in 1994.

To commemorate this anniversary, a special ceremony was held to welcome flight 2592, from Dallas, Texas, which landed at 9:30 a.m. at Terminal 2 of the Los Cabos International Airport.

The arrival of 175 passengers was a significant moment, which included a welcome characterized by mariachi music, a symbol of the hospitality that distinguishes Los Cabos as an international destination.

Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA), highlighted that “American Airlines has been a strategic partner for the growth of Los Cabos, connecting us with key markets that have driven the arrival of travelers and generated an impact on the local economy. This anniversary is a sign of the commitment of both parties to continue positioning Los Cabos as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.”

“At American, we are excited to be able to celebrate three decades of operations in Los Cabos, a sign of our commitment to Mexico and to our team throughout the country,” said José María Giraldo, General Manager of Operations for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean at American Airlines. “We are proud to offer more flights than any other U.S. airline in Los Cabos, giving our customers more options to travel and connect with the United States and the world.”

American’s winter seasonal operation from Los Cabos (SJD) will include up to 81 weekly flights to six destinations in the United States, including Austin (AUS), Charlotte (CLT), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago (ORD) and Phoenix (PHX).

Since its arrival in 1994, American Airlines has played a fundamental role in connecting Los Cabos with the main cities of the United States, strengthening air connectivity and the flow of tourists to the destination. With more than 30 airports connected in its network, American Airlines has established itself as the leading airline in Los Cabos, transporting the largest number of passengers and offering the highest frequency of flights to this popular tourist destination. Thanks to its service, millions of travelers have access to the beaches and attractions that make Los Cabos a unique place.

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust celebrated this milestone and reaffirmed its commitment to work in collaboration with strategic partners such as American Airlines to continue attracting visitors, diversify markets and foster the growth of the destination. • The Mexican Meetings Tourism Council (COMIR) meets in Los Cabos to define strategies for the sector in 2025.

  • The Los Cabos Meetings Tourism Cluster (CTRLC) joins COMIR, strengthening collaboration and tourism development in the region.
  • CTRLC priorities: Unification of the sector, protection of the Los Cabos brand and improvement of the participant experience through training and development.

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, January 10, 2025.- From January 8 to 10, 2025, the Mexican Meetings Tourism Council (COMIR) will hold its planning meeting in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. This meeting aims to establish strategies that will guide the actions of the sector during the next year, with the guidance of a specialized facilitator.

COMIR represents various stakeholders in the Meetings Industry before the authorities of the Government of Mexico, seeking to promote benefits and manage public policies that favor the sector. This meeting brings together presidents of associations and directors of event organizing companies, both nationally and internationally.

A highlight of this meeting is the integration of the Los Cabos Meetings Tourism Cluster (CTRLC), which was established in October 2019. This cluster's mission is to become a leading organization in the industry, collaborating with the academic, business and official sectors to promote the growth and competitiveness of the destination.

This cluster is the second at the national level to join COMIR, which underlines the growing importance of meetings tourism in Mexico. "The integration of the Los Cabos Meetings Tourism Cluster is a crucial step to strengthen our position in the global industry. Together, we can create an ecosystem that not only promotes successful events, but also drives the economic and social development of our region," said Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.

"The average spending of a participant in events is higher than that of a visitor on vacation. This not only amplifies the economic benefit, but also enhances the use of direct and indirect services in the community, generating a significant positive impact both in the locality and in attracting new visitors to the destination," added Rodrigo Esponda.

As part of the CTRLC's strategic priorities, the following stand out:

  • Unification of the sector: Act as a catalyst to connect the actors in the value chain and promote the comprehensive development of the destination.
  • Brand protection: Reinforce the perception of Los Cabos as a unique destination through effective marketing strategies.
  • Improving the participant experience: Collaborating with various entities to implement programs that improve key event services.

“The formalization of the cluster and its integration into COMIR represents a key step to strengthen the collaboration and strategic development of the Meetings Industry in Mexico. For destinations like Los Cabos, this integration amplifies their visibility, reinforces their competitiveness and connects directly with key industry players, ensuring clear and tangible benefits for their positioning as a leading destination in the MICE segment. At the same time, the inclusion of Los Cabos in COMIR enriches our national representation, strengthens our joint strategies and ensures a win-win model that drives the entire industry,” said Michel Wohlmuth, President of COMIR.

During the sessions, COMIR will hold a dialogue with key representatives of the destination to share recommendations and suggestions that drive events in Los Cabos. This collaborative approach is essential to strengthen tourism development and ensure that Los Cabos remains a competitive and reliable destination in the global market.
