500 weekly flights and 80% occupancy in BCS for Easter

Baja California Sur is prepared to receive the arrival of more than 140,000 visitors on the occasion of Holy Week, reported the Ministry of Tourism and Economy (SETUE), within the framework of the start of the operation that the State Government is leading regarding this holiday period from April 10 to 17.

The three main destinations of the entity, Loreto, La Paz and Los Cabos, register a hotel occupancy rate of 80 percent, figures similar to those before the pandemic, which shows the recovery that the tourism industry is experiencing. Similarly, the northern area of ​​the entity maintains positive numbers in this line.

In Los Cabos alone, 500 weekly flights are estimated, noting that foreign tourist arrivals increased by 21 percent, while domestic tourists increased by 10 percent, who have a longer stay, since new trends indicate that travelers want to know more destinations, favoring tourism in the communities.

Regarding the rest of the tourist services, these present an increase of 72 percent, for which an economic spill of close to 372 million pesos is expected at the end of said vacations, which will translate into greater benefits for families living of this activity.

They give the flag to Operative of Safe Holy Week 2022

During the start of the 2022 Safe Holy Week Operation, the Governor asked the South Californian citizens to be in solidarity with the effort and coordination between the Civil Protection, public security, aid and Armed Forces instances, to guarantee that the vacation period at the door passes without incident.

At the beginning of this strategy, in which a state of force of 2,043 elements will participate, including personnel from the Armed Forces, Security, paramedics and operational personnel in general, as well as 519 vehicles and the operation of 90 assistance and information points in recreational areas, cultural and massive concentration of the five municipalities of the entity.

The state executive, accompanied by the mayor and heads of the Mexican Army and Navy, as well as the National Guard and local police and aid corporations, gave the start signal for this operation that will continue until next Monday 18 of April.

The 2022 Holy Week Operation Begins in Los Cabos

In order to safeguard the physical integrity of the citizens of Los Cabos and of the people who visit this tourist destination during the next vacation season, the Government of Los Cabos, through the Municipal Directorate of Civil Protection, gave the starting signal for the Easter 2022 operation, which will intensify from Thursday, April 14 to Sunday, April 17, with a state of force of 846 elements and 222 emergency, rescue, road support and logistics units at the federal, state, municipal, as well as the private and social sector.

During the start of the work that was carried out this Wednesday, April 6, in front of the facilities of the Cultural Pavilion of the Republic "Nabor García Aguirre", it was announced that 14 aid modules will be installed, located as follows: 3 in Buenavista, -La Gaviota beach, on the road and at the Civil Protection stations and the H. Fire Department-; 1 on the El Atracadero de La Ribera beach; 1 at the junction of the Santiago highway; 1 on the side of the road in Miraflores; 1 on the “Zacatitos” beach in Cabo del Este; 4 in San José del Cabo, -in the community of La Playa, Costa Azul, Palmilla and El Tule-; and finally, 3 in Cabo San Lucas, -in Migriño, El Médano and on the Transpeninsular highway in front of the Walmart shopping center-.

Likewise, it was reported that during the operation a total of 40 beaches throughout the municipality will remain under constant surveillance, 26 of them -located in the North Zone, the Eastern Cape and the Pacific Zone-, for camping activities and will be open to the public from 06:00 in the morning until 07:00 in the afternoon. 5 ecotourism zones are also contemplated, 4 of them in the community of Santiago and one in the delegation of Miraflores.

Among the recommendations issued to the population are: use a seat belt and avoid using the road as a highway, a recurring situation that has caused hundreds of road accidents due to exceeding speed limits.

Finally, it was reported that through the directorates of Public Services, Zofemat, and Public Security, the cleanliness and order of the beaches will be maintained, always abiding by the responsibility of citizens for the use and care of them.

CSC, opened in 2021, is located on a 5-hectare site and has an 8,000-m2 esplanade. It has a stadium with capacity for 3,500 fans, a Grandstand for 1,500 people and three fields that can be adapted to receive up to 400 spectators.

According to the downward behavior of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mifel Tennis Open 2022 will be played behind open doors with a full capacity.
