This August 30 began the ninth edition of the World Meetings Forum Los Cabos Chapter

In a very organized way, the first day of this important event began that brings together the best in the Meetings Industry to generate new business relationships and with it better business opportunities for this important sector in the tourist destination of Los Cabos, which means 6.8% of the Gross Domestic Product of Baja California Sur.

For the third time, Los Cabos receives this great event that will be held in a hybrid way, contemplating and taking care of the health safety of each of the attendees in detail.

The arrival of international cruise ships to South Californian ports will adhere to a strict preventive protocol that to reduce risks due to Covid transmission, both in crew and passengers, authorized the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS).

By holding a meeting with the Secretary of Tourism, Fernando Ojeda, with the general manager of the Comprehensive Port Administration (API) in Los Cabos, Fernando Hoyos (connected by videoconference) and with the representative of the Mexican Cruise Association, Arturo Mussi Ganem Pulido Medrano said that this regulation establishes, among other points, that cruise ships will adhere their passenger capacity to the capacity established in the current health alert level in the entity.

Los Cabos is the first destination to have 5 Platinum Beaches in the world

The Mayor of Los Cabos Armida Castro Guzmán received from the Mexican Institute of Normalization and Certification A.C. (IMNC) certifications that endorse Playa Palmilla, El Chileno, Acapulquito, Santa María and Las Viudas as Platinum Beaches, Beaches with Good Practices for a Healthy and Safe Environment (PASSE) and Clean Sustainable Beaches at the National Level (White Flag), making Los Cabos the first coastal municipality in the entire country to have 5 beaches that have the aforementioned certifications.

The mayor affirmed that the beaches are what motivate tourists to visit Los Cabos, they are generators of employment and growth; For this reason, the great interest of continuing to offer those who visit this port and become promoters of Los Cabos, a safe and clean space.

For his part, the municipal coordinator of ZOFEMAT Los Cabos, Javier Ontiveros Fabián, mentioned that the certifications received are under the NMXAA120SCFI2016 modality; Previously, Los Cabos only had two certified beaches, Chileno and Palmilla, now, three have been added: Santa María, Las Viudas and Acapulquito, making a total of 5 platinum beaches, clean beaches with a healthy and safe environment.
